Dear Fellow Lee Countians,
On November 2, 2004, the voters of Lee County will go to the polls to elect a Circuit Court Clerk to fill the three-year un-expired term of Mr. Davidson. I am respectfully asking for your support and vote.
The Clerk is the chief administrative officer of the Circuit Court. This office has more than 800 statutory duties. These duties are numerous and complex. Included in these duties, and the ones, which are most important to the public, are the maintenance of all land transactions, liens, marriages, probate, military discharges and various other records, which are recorded in the Clerk’s Office. The Clerk also handles the criminal and civil cases that come before the Circuit Court. These duties include jury trials and jury management.
I have served in the Lee County Clerk’s office for more than 27 years. My duties have included serving in the courtroom and performing all of the duties required in the office, I am therefore, familiar with every duty required by the office.
Certain practices are a priority and should be continued and maintained in the Clerk’s Office. These include the continued updating, modernization and computerization of the record-keeping facilities, and maintaining office hours on Saturday, to accommodate citizens who work during the week.
If elected, I will continue to perform all the services as your Circuit Court Clerk that I have been doing for the past 27 years. As your Clerk, I will use my experience to ensure that the office is run professionally, competently, and responsibly and in a friendly and courteous manner.
I hope to see each of you personally before the elections, but I must continue to perform my duties as clerk during this time and may have less opportunity to go door to door than I would like.
I sincerely ask for your vote and support on November 2, 2004 in the election for Lee County Circuit Clerk.
Sincerely,
Beverly Rogers Anderson
