Lee County man enters guilty plea

• JONESVILLE — A Lee County man pleaded guilty Tuesday in Lee County Circuit Court to a charge of growing marijuana with the intent to distribute. Robert Lynn Jerrell, 36, Route 2, Box 398, Jonesville, will be sentenced June 4 and could face up to 30 years in prison. Commonwealth’s Attorney Tammy McElyea said Jerrell was charged after officers found 10 marijuana plants growing near his residence and more of the illegal weed inside the house being processed on July 15, 2000. The amounts involved indicated it was not for his own use, she said. Jerrell consented to a search of his residence and property by officers, who had been tipped that he was growing the marijuana, said McElyea.
