Lee woman convicted of possession

• JONESVILLE — A Pennington Gap woman pleaded guilty Tuesday in Lee County Circuit Court to a single count of illegal possession of OxyContin. Janet Renee Hess, 23, Route 1, Box 689, Dryden, was charged in February 2000 after officers investigating an abandoned, wrecked vehicle found four pills in a purse that also contained her identification, said Commonwealth’s Attorney Tammy McElyea. The prosecutor said after Hess was located later, she admitted she did not have a valid prescription for the drugs. Hess will be sentenced June 4.
