Support Our Troops

Since many of our troops are in harm's way, and others are headed there to protect our American values, it's appropriate to remember the following edited message from a veteran and valued friend: "The soldier at Valley Forge stood barefoot in the snow, starved from lack of food, wounded from months of battle and emotionally scarred from the eternity away from his family surrounded by nothing but death and carnage of war.'' It's noteworthy, that few of those in our House and Senate served in the military and a recent president who wasn't a veteran loathed and manipulated the military for his personal advantage.

The message continued, "That soldier gave you an unmatched birthright of freedom born in the Constitution and now your children graduate too illiterate to read it. He fought in snow barefoot to give you the freedom to vote and you stay at home because it rains. He left family destitute to give you the freedom of speech and you remain silent on critical issues, because it might be bad for business. These veteran soldiers orphaned their children to give you a government to serve you and it has stolen democracy from the people. Veterans, not the reporters, give you freedom of the press. Veterans, not the poets, give you the freedom of speech and veterans, not the campus organizers, allow you to demonstrate. It's the patriotic American veteran who salutes the flag, serves the flag, whose coffin is draped with the flag, and allows the protester to burn the flag! Father, hold our troops in Your protecting hands, as they fight to protect the values we hold precious!
